Our curriculum, the Iqraa Corner reading program, and Girl-Mentor-Girl.
If you are looking to enhance your child's Arabic skills while also having them learn about different aspects of Islam, you have come to the right place. Our goal is to meet the needs of each individual child, so they can gain a deeper understanding of the Qur'an.
Classes cover Arabic and Qur'an (for younger kids, the teacher also covers Islamic studies in the same class). A class runs for 2 hours for older kids and 1.5 hours for younger kids. For older students, we offer a separate Islamic studies class at no additional fee.
Unlike contemporary weekend schools, we focus more on teaching Arabic as a language — not just for Arabs. The goal is for children to read and understand Arabic script, in addition to learning Qur'an and their deen. The school runs on a class model, since we have 10 levels that can't all be covered at the same time.
Arabic alphabets, Qur'an (short surahs), and Islamic studies basics (Aqeedah, manners, simple du'aa).
Builds on the beginners' class, including reading small words.
Covers Arabic, Qur'an, and Islamic studies appropriate to the level.
A distinct class for Islamic Studies (just over an hour) plus a class for Arabic and Qur'an (2 hours).
All classes are taught by professional and experienced teachers who work at surrounding Islamic schools.
Iqraa Corner is a mom-driven activity dedicated to achieving excellence in Qur'anic and Arabic learning by encouraging students to read Arabic books and literature.
Our goal is to raise our children to know and love the Arabic language through reading Arabic stories. Reading Arabic stories keeps the connection with Arabic and Islamic culture, prepares children for reading Qur'an and du'aa in Arabic, and helps build a strong Islamic identity.
Iqraa moms hold bake sales year-round to raise money for the library and student rewards. Donations are also welcome — thank you for your support.
For high school and college girls who graduated from, or are still enrolled in, Dar Al-Taqwa Sunday School — also open to friends from the community.
Donations are accepted. Thank you for your support.
